Capacity Analyser for MESSAGEmanager

Over the past year our consultants have seen a real need for a reporting and alerts solution for Fax and SMS gateway's. In enterprise deployments, managing user and application volume peaks has been very difficult to forecast. Estimating peak usage with room for growth in a hardware based solution was possible by allocating a percentage for growth and purchasing more ports than were required initially.

In a VM world where extensibility is all about software licenses, ensuring you keep a close eye on system capacity rather than hearing from disgruntled users is very important. This process would often require monitoring PBX indial overflows and outbound queue delays.

To streamline this requirement, Preemptive developed the Capacity Analyser for MESSAGEmanager.

The Capacity Analyser delivers an alert email to a specified smtp address daily. This email provides reports on each server showing the maximum line utilisation in seconds per hour for the preceding 24 hours and maximum use broken down by send and receive peaks for that hour.

This allows a quick decision on whether lines should be adjusted to be dedicated to inbound or outbound or increased in number. The solution helps business managers see the daily peaks in traffic and avoid ongoing business accessibility restrictions through limited line numbers.
